Halfway Lake NA – North

Unlike its Southern sister, Halfway Lake Natural Area – South Parcel, this parcel is much drier and accessible. An interesting outbound building is worth a peek across the fence in the adjoining property.

Halfway Lake is broken into two parcels separated by about 6km. The Southern portion was partially surveyed in April and the Northern in November. Both portions show signs of moderate disturbances caused by dumping, ATVs, possibly poaching, and other human disturbances.

The Northern portion has a wide ATV track through a sandy jackpine forest. A loop of sorts is likely although the ATV track degrades quickly after coming to a neighbouring farmer’s gate. Worth a poke-about if you are in the neighbourhood.
