Sherwood Park, established in the 1950s, contributes to the youthful feel of this quadrant, while the eastern area is dry and expansive.

Southeast YEGVille starts in the Beaverhills Biosphere and then reaches toward the prairie to the south and east of Edmonton. It includes Red Deer which is the traditional demarkation between Calgary – which tends to look South and Edmonton – which tends to look North.
Young, Desicated, and Expansive. SE-YEGVille feels young. Sherwood Park, a major urban area, was created out of farmland in the 1950’s [1]. The eastern boundaries are dry, large and empty. Empty enough to fit in the 609km2 Canadian Forces Base Wainwright [2].
