Gull Lake PNT

A (probably illegal) hunting camp is found in the Southern parcel of this PRA.

Gull Lake is one of the recreational lakes in central Alberta. Not as developed as Sylvan nor as close as Pigeon. The Aspen Beach Provincial Park is at the south end.

There are two portions to the PRA and only the Southern parcel has been evaluated. A tidy hunting camp is established near the lake and ATV tracks have worn away much of the mossy under story. The camp comes to an end. It appears that dirt bikes and walkers have tried to make it further North with out much success.

Overall, not really YEGVille’s thing. Not enough trails for hiking, snowshoeing, etc. and there is a risk of running into bush parties and rowdy locals viewing the PRA as their own property. Of course, if you are a rowdy and want a ready made hunting camp…

    • The Drive Out:
    • Aspen Beach Provincial Park is at the South end of the lake; note, it is closed by mid-September and there is only foot access and no washrooms.
    • RR 284 paved part way north with a bike trail in and around Gull Lake
    • RR 11 has a bike path but ends abruptly at one of the recreational community.
    • Boat launch Sandy Point, south TWP 411; turns to gravel after this point
